Frieda VanHouten Passes Away
Miss Frieda I VanHouten, 51, Route 3, passed away Monday evening at St.Lawrence 
Hospital, Lansing, after  a long illness. She was born in Odessa Township July 
13, 1917, on the farm on Musgrove Highway where she had lived her entire life. 
Her parents were Archie and Minnie (Backus) VanHouten.

Miss VanHouten was a graduate of theLake Odessa high School class of 1935 and 
owned and operated a music studio for many years here and was a teacher of 
guitar and accordion.

She was a member of the Sebewa Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sisters-in-law, Mrs Gertrude VanHouten of Hastings and Mrs 
Lula VanHouten of Sunfield; her fiance Alden Pritchard of Lake Odessa, nieces 
and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at 1:30 at the Pickens Funeral 
Chapel. Rev. Wayne Ritchie officiated, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery.
