Ionia Sentinel Standard - June 17, 2011


Leonard C. Vierk, 74, of Lake Odessa, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011, at 
Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. 

Leonard was born April 1, 1937, in Woodland Township the son of Clyde and Avis 
(Russell) Vierk.

He attended Lake Odessa schools and was employed at the Fargo gas station in 
Lake Odessa as an attendant and mechanic and also worked in the foundry at 
Keeler Brass. 

Leonard was a very devoted son to his mother, Avis. Anyone meeting Leonard 
found him to be personable and with a kind Spirit.

Preceding Leonard in death were his parents and his brother, Larry W. Vierk.

Surviving is his sister, Elva Viek; nephew, Brendan (Jennifer) Vierk; and great 
niece and nephew, Sophia and Connor.

Visitation with the family will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., Saturday, 
June 18, 2011, followed by a 1 p.m. funeral service at Koops Funeral Chapel – 
Lake Odessa. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa.
