Kenneth Ward, 85, of Ionia, passed away June 26, 2003.  He was born December 
5, 1917 in Ionia, the son of Elmer and Anna (Douse) Ward.  He married 
Catherine (Kay) Burr June 28, 1998.

He was a World War II Marine Veteran and a member of the Sheridan V.F.W.  
Kenneth was involved for 50 years in Beagling.  He was a talented wood carver, 
a teller of good jokes and  a of many talents.

He is survived by his loving wife Catherine (Kay) Ward; children, Sonja Reed 
of Ionia, Sue (Steve) Solomon of Saranac, Rob (Don) Mejeur of Kalamazoo, Tina 
(Howard) DeYoung of Jenison, Les Bates of Naples, Florida, Jan (Wayne) Reister 
of Midland, Virginia VanDuesen of Ionia; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-
grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services are 3 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2003 at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with the Rev. Eugene Kooi officiating.  Interment Easton Cemetery.  The 
family will receive friends and relatives Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. 
to 8:30 p.m.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution to Hospice.
