Amos Morgan Welch, age 96, of Saranac, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2005 
in Ionia.  He was born January 19, 1909 in Ionia, the son of John and Leah 
(Rogers) Welch.  Amos married Wilma Patrick who preceded him in death September 
28, 1994.  He was a member of First Christian Church of Ionia and MMPA for many 
years.  He was on the board for Ronald Grange Twp. for over 20 years.

He is survived by his daughter Janet (Phil) Jones of Saranac; grandchildren, 
Lee (Karen) Jones of Saranac, Karl (Sarah) Jones of Saranac; great-
grandchildren Melissa, Kathryn, Crystal, Lance, Kyle and Kent.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Friday at Easton United Methodist Church 
with Chaplain Tom Reaume officiating.  Interment will be in Saranac Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends and relatives Thursday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 
p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  You may make memorial 
contributions in Amos’s name to American Cancer Fund or Easton United Methodist 
Church.
