Ionia Sentinel Standard, 14 Feb 1979

Blanche Reynolds Welch, 92, of 205 East Washington St., Ionia died Tuesday
morning at the Ionia County Memorial hospital.  She was born in Easton township
January 8, 1887, the daughter of William and Emma Jane (Blewer) Reynolds.  

Mrs. Welch attended Dildine school in Easton township, Ionia high school and
Ferris Institute in Big Rapids.  She taught school in Gladwin and also city of
Ionia.  She married Henry T. Welch, June 26, 1912 and they lived most of their
married life in Ionia.  He preceded her in death March 25, 1962.  She was a
member of St. Johns Episcopal church, Women’s Literary club and DAR.

Survivors include one son, Douglas R. Welch of Ionia; one daughter, Mrs. Sheldon
(Emma Jane) Crossman of Ionia; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren;
one brother, Roy Reynolds of Seattle, Wash.; and one sister, Mabel Reynolds of
Ionia.

Funeral service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick funeral home with Father
Ray Roberts officiating.  Committal service will be at the funeral home with
interment in Highland Park Mausoleum.  A memorial fund has been established for
St. Johns Episcopal church and contributions may be left at the funeral home. 
The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday 2
to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.
