                      MRS. SYLVIA WESTPHAL

LAKE ODESSA-Mrs. Sylvia Westphal, 53 o 1309 Jordan Lake Ave., Lake Odessa, died 
Friday evening at St.Mary's Hospital in Grand Rapids following and extended 
illness. 

She was born June 26, 1927 in Crystal Lake, Ill. the daughter of Roy and Bertha 
Juers Daymond.

She attended school in Chicago, graduating in 1945.

She married Donald Westphal Feb. 2, 1974.

She had worked at the Kent CountyLibrary, Buys-McGregor Inc., Hospitality Inn, 
and at the time of her death an antique shop in her home.

She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; three sons, Chris Westphal of Wayland, 
Mark Modders of Rockford, and Steven Westphal of Middleton; two daughters,Sandy 
Modders of Detroit and Dennis (Cindy) Lutz of Kalamazoo; one grandson; one 
brother, Scott Daymond of Wichita, Kan.; one sister, Mrs.Robert (Gert) Rinker of 
Morton, Ill.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church 
with the Rev. Frank Graves officiating.

Burial will be in Fairplains Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the cancer Fund. Envelopes are available at 
the Pickens-Koops funeral Chapel.

The family will greet friends and relatives Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
