April 3, 1890 Obituary Meda Whitacre departed this life March 26th, 1890 aged 21 years, 3 months and 22 days. Having passed her whole life in Maple Rapids, she was well known by our people. We have watched her progress through childhood and youth and the brightness evinced in her early years gave promise of a life of usefulness. Her cheerful spirit was a constant source of comfort in her home and endeared her to a large circle of friends. About two months since she became ill with what seemed to be pneumonia, but which terminated in consumption. During her long illness she bore her sufferings with much patience and till near the last had hopes of recovery. Every effort was made by her family and friends in her behalf ad she was grateful for all their kindly attentions. The bereaved family have the sympathy of their many friends. The funeral services were held at the residence, March 28th, 1890 by the Rev. C.E. Watson who kindly cherished the memory of the deceased and spoke words of consolation to the bereaved relatives. Card of Thanks We Wish to tender our sincere thanks to those kind neighbors and friends who so willingly and untiringly aided us during the sickness and burial of our daughter. J.N.WHITACRE AND WIFE.
