The Stanton Weekly Clipper, Friday, January 20, 1905

Fernando D. White was born at Cazenovia, Madison county, New York August 30, 
1840, and died at Stanton, January 13, 1905.  

At nine years of age he came with his parents to Saline, Washtenaw county, 
Michigan.  Fifteen years later he moved to Otisco township, Ionia county, and 
later became a resident of Montcalm county, living at Lakeview the last 17 
years of his life.  He has always led an active life, being employed as lumber 
inspector during the last 20 of his working years.  He was employed by the 
well known firm of Macomber & Bale of Lakeview for more than 13 years.

November 12, 1861 he was united in marriage to Mary Eckert of Ionia county and 
she with their son, Claude E. White, and four brothers and two sisters of the 
deceased are left to mourn.

During the last four years of his life he has been confined to the house most 
of the time, always bearing his suffering with patience and fortitude.  He was 
for many years an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church and during 
the last few weeks of his sickness often expressed the thought that it was 
well with his soul.

The deceased was a member of the F. &. A. M. fraternity for over 30 years and 
also belonged to the K. of P., and K.O.T.M.M.  He was a kind and loving 
husband and father, a true friend and genial company and he will be missed by 
a wide circle of friends.

He came to this city last October to spent the winter with his son.

Interment took place in Green’s cemetery in Orleans township, Ionia county, 
Monday.
