Sentinel-Std. - Friday, Sept. 25, 1981

Lake Odessa- Rodney C. Young, age 55, of 1338 Ionia Avenue, Lake Odessa, 
died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon, September 23, at the Tri-County 
Community Hospital in Edmore.

He was born February 28, 1926 in Toole, Utah, the son of Charles and Emma 
Henwood Young. He attended school in Lake Odessa.

On June 3, 1951 he married Jacquelyn Shoemaker in Lake Odessa. He was 
employed by Oldsmobile for 35 years, retiring in May 1981.

Surviving are one son, Roger C. of Lake Odessa, one daughter, Pearl J. Young 
of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, one granddaughter, Charisma Young of Grand Rapids, 
one brother, Gerald Hill of Auburn Heights, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Marie 
Hill of Wyoming and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Pickens-Koops 
Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa with the Rev. George Speas officiating. Burial 
will be at Lakeside Cemetery.

A memorial has been established for the Lake Odessa ambulance and envelopes 
are available a the chapel.

Family will be at the chapel Friday evening from 7 to 9.
