Excerpts from Belding Obituary

Died Sunday July 5, 2026-age 87 at home with his family & Faith Hospice.
Born in Grand Rapids, son of Raymond & Bernice (Bowler) Zahm.
Jerry married Carol Susan Sydow on February 11, 1961, at St.Charles Catholic 
Church in Greenville.
Jerry & Susie shared 65 years together.
Jerry worked in Tool & Die for Jordan manufacturing in Belding for 30 years 
finishing at Belco Industries until retirement.
Jerry was very active in his Catholic Church by being the creator and developer 
of the Fish Wagon and working many years volunteering for Fish Fry Fridays.
Jerry also participated in Golf Leagues throughout the years traveling to 
sporting events with his buddies.
His passion was racing, short track long track, dirt or concrete, which is how 
he earned his nickname "Governor".
He had a season Ticket for Michigan International Speedway for 50 years.
Jerry & Susan traveled to various locations with family & friends, one was to 
Australia to visit friends.
Survived by his wife, Susie, daughters Tammy (Paul) Parrott, Wendy Leatherman & 
grandchildren, Maddie, Molly & Michell Lake; and sister, Lana Green.
Preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, William (Amos) & Son Michael.
  
Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, July 10,2026 at 11am at StJoseph 
Catholic Church, 403 S.Bridge St., Belding, MI 48809, with Fr. Andrew Ayers the 
Celebrant.
Visitation will take place at the Church fr an hour prior to the Mass beginning 
at 10am.
Those wished to consider a donation in his memory may donate to Faith Hospice.
