Orland “Mike” Burns, 87, Six Lakes, passed away Monday, Sept. 22. 1997 at 
Metron Nursing Home of Belding.
He was born June 11, 1910, in Belding to Clifford and Viola Bissel Burns.
He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM 454 and Eastern Star Chapter 
417 of Six Lakes.  He attended First Congregational Church of Six Lakes and 
was constable and chief of police of Belvidere Township of 22 years and a life 
member of Constable’s Association.
Mr. Burns is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy I. Seat, whom he married 
Feb. 20, 1932, in Cedar Springs.  Also surviving are one son, Jerry M. Burns 
of Six Lakes; two daughter and sons-in-law, Diane and Theodore Krolczyk of 
Manistee, Sandra and Larry Sisco of Six Lakes, three brothers, Ivan, Eston, 
and Milt, all of Six Lakes, one sister, LaVonne Orwig of Lakeview; seven 
grandchildren and either great-grandchildren.
Funeral service for Mr. Burns will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Stebbins-
McCullough Funeral Chapel, Edmore, with Pastor Gary Clouse officiating.  
Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, Six Lakes.
