He came to Michigan with his parents at the age of 7 and has been a resident of Ottawa Co. for 79 years. He married in 1875 to Anna BAKKER, who passed away 32 years ago. They had 6 children: Louis, Henry and Reka of Coopersville; Guy of Milwaukee; and Obe and Anna who preceded him in death. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Harold SLAUGHTER, Boyd SLAUGHTER, Guy SLAUGHTER JR, and Beth SLAUGHTER; one bother William SLAUGHTER of Terre Haute, Ind. A year ago, he made a confession of his faith and became a member of the Reformed Church, of which he had been a lifelong attendant. Funeral services were held in the Reformed Church Monday afternoon with burial in the Coopersville Cemetery.
