John SCHILKE was born 11/29/1859 in West Prussia with his father's name of 
William SCHILKE.  He had brothers - Fred and Carl; sisters - Ida and Bertha.
He is laid to rest in Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit, Mi. and had services at 
Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. F.A. Hertwig. His 
wife was Ernestine SCHILKE (KUNKLE) who died in 1938 in Detroit, Mi.  They had 
children: Otto,Charles, August, Fred, Grace, John, George, Emma (my mother), 
and Walter.
