Mrs. Lavina Bissonette, 79, of Standish, passed away Monday at the Standish Community Hospital following a lingering illness. She was born June 10, 1892 in Arenac County. The former Lavina LaClair married Joseph Bissonette in 1915 and has spent her entire life in the Standish area. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Standish. Survivors include her husband, Joseph, Standish; six sons, Henry and Donald, Standish, Leo, Oza and Arthur, Bay City, and Charles of Van Wert, Ohio; one daughter, Mrs. Ida Tremble, Pelston; three grandchildren; 13 great-grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Cavanaugh, Bay City, and Mrs. Ruth Shannon, Midland. Services will be Thursday, Sept. 30, from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 10 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Joseph Roach officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the Savage Funeral Chapel where Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
