Independent, Wednesday, December 11, 1935, p.1 Transcriber, date unknown Contributor unknown Obit: Edmund LaClair - Saganing Pioneer, died last Sunday after failing in health for the past two years. Edmund LaClair died at his home in Standish Township, Sunday morning, December 8. He was one of the older pioneer farmers of Saganing, born in Churbusco, NY, March 16, 1864. He married Miss Alvina Trombley on January 9, 1888, coming to Pine River the following fall. The farm they settled on at that time is the one on which he spent the remainder of his life. Seven children were born to them of which two died in infancy. The widow Alvina survives besides, a son Solomon, Pontiac and four daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Ives, Detroit, Mrs. Phillip Cavanaugh, Mrs. Joseph Bissonette and Mrs. Henry Shannon, Standish. Other relatives are a sister, Mrs. Charles Patnoe, Morrisville, NY, five brothers, John and Louis, Morrisville, NY and Tom, Wilfred and Alex, Churbusco, NY, 21 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, also a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held this morning, December 11 at nine o'clock from St. John the Baptist church, Rev. Fr. E.P. Labory officiating. Burial was in Pine River cemetery.
