Rather sudden death came to Nelson Laclair, pioneer Pine River farmer, Monday morning at 2:00 o'clock, death being caused by heart failure. Mr. Laclair suffered a stroke 10 years ago and since then has not been in good health. During the past month he has been failing more rapidly and became gradually weaker to the time of his death. Mr. Laclair has been farming in Pine River for 46 years, coming there from Chatugay (sic), N.Y., the place of his birth. He settled there and has never removed from the farm. Just prior to his removal from New York state he was married to Miss Josephine Trombley in Chatugay September 6, 1886. Five boys and one girl were born to Mr. & Mrs. Laclair. Two boys and the daughter preceded him in death. In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons all living at Pine River. They are Julius, Wilfred and Armond. Funeral services will be held at St. Johns church Wednesday, Sept. 28, with burial taking place in the Pine River cemetery. Rev. Fr. E.P. Labory will officiate.
