Age 59 years, Mr. LaClair died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1980 at the St. Joseph Hospital of Tawas City, following a short illness. He was born August 27,1921 in Standish, Michigan. He married the former Julia Diotte on March 22, 1978 in West Branch. Mr. LaClair owned and operated LaClair's Wood Stoves on M-55 in Whittemore. He graduated from Standish High School in 1939. He was a veteran of WW II. Surviving are his wife, Julia, 3 sons, Craig LaClair and Robert LaClair, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Gary of Mt. Clemens, MI, 2 daughters, Mrs. Linda Meyers, and Miss Renee LaClair both of Mt. Clemens, MI., 1 grandson. His mother, Mrs. Helen Stefanski of Flushing, MI., 3 brothers and 2 sisters, also survive. Funeral Services will be on Monday, Oct. 6, 1980 at 11 a.m. from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Standish. The Rev. Emmett Marceau will officiate, with burial in the Pine River Cemetery of Standish. Friends may call at the R.O. Savage Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. on Saturday evening. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
