Unknown Paper, likely 1927 Transcriber, date unknown Contributor James Lalone Obit: "Gus Major Dead. August T. Major died at his home in Pine River August 18 after a brief illness. The deceased was born at Arenac September 9, 1859 and always resided in this county. July 22, 1882 he was married to Miss Mary T. Derusha who preceded him in death some years ago. He is survived by his two sons and 1 daughter, Martin of Pine River, Ervin & Mrs. Ed Kiley of Standish, by his widow, Mary Mace Major to whom he was married July 20, 1927 and 3 sisters. Funeral services were conducted from the house by Rev. Charles Edinger of Tawas, Saturday, August 20th. Mr. Major was one of the real pioneers of this county having actually "grown up' with it.
