Arenac County Independent, Wednesday, January 4, 1984 Transcriber, date unknown Contributor unknown Emelia "Millie" Pekrul Lifelong Sterling resident, Emelia "Millie" Pekrul passed away at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Sterling Sunday, Jan. 1. She was born December 22, 1891 in Sterling. Millie married Gustav Pekrul in Sterling. She was widowed July 5, 1972. She was a life member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Erma) Koelsch of Harrison; one son, Rudolph of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. One son, John, preceded her in death. Funeral services were today (Wednesday) Jan. 4, from St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. H. R. Filter officiating. Burial was in the Sterling Cemetery.
