Arenac County Independent, May 26, 1937 - p. 1 c. 3 Transcriber, date unknown Contributor unknown Death of Paul Redmond Paul Redmond, one of Sterling's pioneers, died May 13 at the age of 70 years five months and one day. Born in Germany, January 12, 1867, his parents came to America when he was six years old, settling in New Jersey. They moved from there to Pontiac, living there about two years before coming to Sterling, where he has resided. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Bowen and Mrs. Edward Donahue, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two nephews, Philip and William Waldie. The remains were brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Donahue. Funeral services were conducted Sunday by Rev. J. W. Levan at the Sterling, M. E. Church. The final services at the cemetery were conducted by the Sterling IOOF Lodge.
