Reid, 95, of Twining, a veteran lumberman, died Saturday at Standish hospital following a brief illness. Born June 7, 1864, he moved to Twining from Reese 65 years ago. He worked in Twining sawmills during the lumbering days for many years. He was also employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Co. He had lived on a farm south of Twining prior to making his home with his daughters, Mrs. Nina Clauton (Clayton) Davison and Mrs. Margaret Durbin, both of Standish. Recently he had been at Holland Nursing home at Omer where he was a member of Omer Masonic Lodge. Surviving besides his daughters are a son, Frank, 10 grandchildren, and 18 greatgrandchildren. Services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Monday at Forshee Funeral home under the auspices of the Masonic lodge, the Rev. Thomas Beavon officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Valley cemetery.
