From the Michigan Pioneer and Historical Column, Vol XIII, Page 404
we find that in the Baraga County Spring election of April 4, 1887, the
county voted 151 YES and 371 NO on the Prohibition Amendment.
Also found that in the Summer Election of 1882, on the subject of
raising $10,000. for building a county court house, the vote was 158 YES
and 95 NO. With this money the present Baraga County Court House was
built of stone from local quarries in 1882.
