Frederick Rice BELKNAP was b. 27 Nov 1862 in Rochester, VT to parents Simeon BELKNAP (b. 1837 in VT-1908) and Addie M. RICE (b. 1840 in VT-1899).  Fred's father and mother are laid to rest in Silverbrook  Cemetery, this county, as are his brother, also named Simeon. Frederick "Fred"  was one of 4 children born to this couple including, Fred Rice; William Orlando;  died very young Simeon Rice Jr.; and Frank Seymour BELKNAP, also died young 2 January 1871 all born between 1862 and 1871.  The Belknap family arrived in Berrien County  in Berrien County, Michigan in about 1874-75. Fred married Mabel Anna BROWN (b. 4 Sept 1867 in Burke, VT - d. 26 Mar 1949 in Benton Harbor, MI) on 26 Dec 1888 in Northfield or Burke, VT. Together they had 2 children, Robert Brown b. 31 Dec 1889 in Berrien Co. MI and Aileen b. 19 Jun 1910 in Benton Harbor, MI. Together they had 2 children, Robert Brown b. 31 Dec 1889 in Berrien Co. MI and died 18 November, 1964 in San Mateo, CA Aileen b. 19 Jun 1910 in Benton Harbor, MI.  She wed Hobart Eugene Bush  15 December 1931 in Benton Harbor, MI, He died 19 November 1950 in Ohio and Aileen died 22 January 1989 in San Diego, CA. Fred died in 1932 and is buried in the Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor, MI. His wife is buried there too.
