
Abandoned Cemetery - Off of 3rd street in Niles Township Michigan,
approximately 4 miles from Niles, Michigan.

Rd. off Third street
Cemetery founded circa 1830. Many of the old stones in
this cemetery have either weathered away or been the victim of being
vandalized.
Only a few stones remain.
At one point there was a small village of Betertand, no longer in
existance. The oldest resident of this little knoll was Daniel C.Higbee. born 1811 son of
Isaac & Polly (Comstock) Higbee.
who settled in the area in about 1833 with his 1st wife, Syrena. She
died in 1853 and Daniel Married Catherine (Schuder) Fisher 9 November
1853.
Daniel
died in 5 February, 1902 at age 90 years and Catherine in 6 July
1909 at the age of 79. Possible burial here but unproven.
