Jackson Cemetery Notes for John C. and Anastacia

Buried in the plot at Resurrection Cemetery in Saint Joseph are my greatgrandparents John C. Jackson, and his wife, Anastacia Redmond Nolan Jackson.
John C. Jackson, contrary to what is carved on the marker/memorial stone,* was born in Pennsylvania sometime between 1815 and 1820 (pssibly in Chester County), to parents who he always described in the US Censuses as having been 'from Canada'. Little is known of his life before 1855, when he was in Lake Forest, Lake County, Illinois. He died in 1896 in Benton Harbor.
Anastacia Redmond Nolan Jackson, was born somewhere in County Wexford, Ireland, in 1823**. She was a daughter of Michael Redmond and Catherine Sutton Redmond of the same place. In the late 1840's she married James Nolan in Ireland.
In 1850, her parents, several siblings, her husband and two children emigrated to
Lake County, IL where her father had purchased a large farm. He first husband, Nolan (or Knowlan), passed away between 1850 and 1855.
John C. (middle name unknown) Jackson, a farmer/laborer, and Anastacia Nolan were married in Lake Forest, IL in October, 1855. They raised several children there between 1857 and the late 1860's. In the mid-1870's, perhaps as the result of family connections with the Yore family in Berrien County, they moved to Benton Harbor, MI, where John became a small-acreage fruit grower.
Anastacia passed away in 1895 and John C., in 1896. Their burial site is marked by an old-style Woodmen of the World grave marker at the Resurrection Cemetery in Saint Joseph.
*Marker says he was born in 1797, which is incorrect.
** Marker says she was born in 1821. This is also incorrect.
