City Cemetery
AKA Lakeview Cemetery
Located
in the 2100 block of Lakeview Avenue, in St. Joseph, on the west side of the
street
St. Joseph Township.
Brief history: Commenced in the late 1820's but officially purchased by the township in about 1842. This cemetery is older than Resurrection Catholic Cemetery along the lake front or Riverview Cemetery on the other side of town. This cemetery no longer offers burial plots for sale.
The following partial burial listings contain many of the families that live or once lived in Berrien County or had family connections. For a full listing of this cemetery, the Berrien County Genealogical Society offers a book that may be purchased of readings and studies done by the group.
