Feather Cemetery

Located in the northern edge of Section 7 on the North side of Hinchman Road in Oronoko Township.
It sits in between Hollywood and Scottdale roads. The cemetery was part of the Joshua and Mary Ann (Smith) Feather Sr. homestead.
Joshua, his wife Mary Ann are buried here along with some of the children. As noted on another on line source,
many of the graves here were later removed to Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan. Cemetery has also been known as the
Feather_Harner Cemetery due to the Harner connection and burials within.
   Rerencing the history of Berrien County we see that Joshua Feather moved to this area in 1836 from Snyder County, Pennsylvania with his wife and three children.
Their migration route took them through Stark County, Ohio where they wintered over in 1835 before coming on to this county.
Mr. Feather actually moved to section 7 in 1837 where he entered 80 acres and eventually added another 120 acres this would become
known as the "Feather settlement". Mr. Feather died December 1878 at the age of 72 years old. His sons names were,
John A., Daniel T., Joshua and a daughter, Mary Ann, who later wed Mr. William Harner.
