Lett Cemetery
Lett Road on the West Side - 12 miles South of Pipestone Road - in Sodus Township
Cemetery on old (1887) map appears on the SE Corner of Section 25 on Sophia Lett property adjacent to George W. Lett property.

Brief History: Othias and Sophia, along with several children and other Lett families living close by can be found in 1850 Census-Meigs, Muskingum, OH,.
In viewing various census reports, the Lett family appears to be in the area as early as 1860. The families in this cemetery are listed as Mulatto and Black on some of these same census reports.
Much of the information below is taken from family files and obituaries. As in many other small cemeteries throughout the county, a couple of facts should be realized. Old wood crosses quickly deteriorate and fall away, while some stones made of a cheaper grade of limestone or granite do not weather well and are illegible. Also several graves are unmarked.

Ref: George Lett, we have no evidence at this time of where George and his wife Dilsey (West) Lett are buried, but she filed for his Civil War pension in August of 1894 Dilsey had a total of 5 children.
