Oak Ridge Cemetery
Located on the west side of the city of Buchanan, between Front St.
and Terre Coupe Rd.  There is also an entrance from Polis St.

Entrance
Front Street entrance to Oak Ridge Cemetery

The entrance sign above (pillars and arch) was erected in 2008 entirely through donations of money, materials and labor. The project was coordinated by Friends of Oak Ridge Cemetery, and dedicated on June 27, 2009. This was the original entrance to the old cemetery (10 acres) established in 1864. In 1927 the Women's Clubs of Buchanan donated the money for the entrance pilars at the Terre Coupe Road.  They had commenced collecting in 1910 and continued until donation was made.  F. W. Fay, monument erector of Niles, got the contract to build the pilars, 6 feet high with bronze tablets imbedded in front of each pilar. Photo of Front Street entrance contributed by: Robert D. Brown, President, Friends of Oak Ridge Cemetery
