| DeCLUTE, SERAPHINA: (The Coldwater Courier, Fri., Dec. 27, 1907) Seraphina De Clute passed away Wednesday evening December 25, 1907 at her home in the flat over the Milnes Store No. 54 West Chicago Street. Her death was due to cancer of the breast with which she has for a long time been afflicted. Mrs. DeClute's maiden name was CRAWFORD and she was a native of New York State, in which commonwealth she was born in December 1842. She came to Coldwater to reside thirty-six years ago. She is survived by her second husband, Daniel DE CLUTE. Her first husband George SMITH having died about fotry five years ago. Ten years later she married Mr. De Clute. She is survived by three brothers, Frank and Contranine CRAWFORD of Coldwater and Skijar CRAWFORD of Wahoo, Nebraska. One sister, all trace of whom has completely disappeared, is also thought to be still living. The funeral was held in her apartment this afternoon and interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. |
| DUNHAM, EDWIN L.: (The Courier, Coldwater, Branch Co., Michigan, Feb. 1, 1890) Edwin L. Dunham died at his home on Alden Street in this city last Sunday morning of pneumonia, preceded by influenza. His funeral was attended on Wednesday, Rev. W.A. Hunsberger conducting the services, after which his remains were taken to Quincy for interment. Mr. Dunham was born Dec. 12, 1852 in Pennfield, N.Y., and had resided in Coldwater since 1871. He married Miss Ermina Taylor of Quincy, who survives him, together with five children--the oldest 9 and the youngest 4 years of age. |
| DUNHAM, ERMINA L.: Mrs. Ermina L. Dunham died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Watson, Coldwater, Wednesday morning, August 12, 1914, following a prolonged illness, aged 60 years. Ermina L. Taylor was born in the state of Ohio June 16, 1854. and while yet a child came with her parents to Butler township where she resided until she moved to Coldwater about 30 years ago. At the age of 26 she was married to Edward L. Dunham, who died 25 years ago. Of five children born to this union four survive: Mrs. F. H. Hall, South Bend; Mrs. J. A. Wentworth, Mishawaka; Mrs. Howard Watson and Mark T. Dunham, of Colwater. The funeral was held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home in Coldwater, Rev. Donald MacCluer officiating, and burial was made in Lakeview cemetery at this place. |
| DUNHAM, LORENZO: (The Courier, Coldwater, Branch Co., Michigan, February 7, 1891) L.A. Dunham died quite suddenly at his home on Henry street last Sunday morning of heart disease. The previous day he had been on our streets apparently in his usual health. Going home to supper nothing unusual was observed until 9 o'clock, when he complained of feeling ill and retired. From that time he rapidly grew worse and passed away at 1 o'clock the same night. Mr. D was born in December 1812, in Pennfield, N.Y., coming to Branch county with his family in 1879, residing for a time in Girard and Quincy townships, moving to this city several years ago. His funeral was attended at the M.E. church Tuesday morning, under the auspices of the masonic fraternity, of which he was a member. He was an honest, upright man, and leaves beside his wife a family of seven children--four boys and three girls--all grown to maturity. |
| DUNHAM, RUTH (Miller): (The Quincy Herald, Quincy, Branch Co., Michigan, January 3, 1907) The remains of Mrs. L.A. Dunham, who died at the home of her daughter in Duluth the fore part of last week, were brought here for burial in Lakeview cemetery Saturday, beside the remains of her husband, who died several years ago. Deceased was 91 years old and was the oldest person buried in Lakeview during 1906. She is survived by three daughters and four sons. |
| DUNHAM, SATIRA (Weatherwax): (The Courier, Coldwater, Branch Co., Michigan, March 5, 1892) Mrs. F. S. Dunham - After an illness of three years of a complication of diseases, the above named lady died at her home on Harrison street at noon last Sunday. The last three months of her life she was a great sufferer, being confined to her bed during that time. Satira A. Weatherwax was a daughter of John T. Weatherwax, and was born Aug. 27, 1848, in Butler township, where she was married Oct. 19, 1881, to Mr. Dunham. In 1883 they moved to this city, which has since been her home. The funeral was attended on Tuesday, Rev. N. L. Bray officiating, and the remains was taken to Quincy for interment in Lake View Cemetery. Her husband survives her, no children blessing their union; also her father and two sisters, Mrs. S. K. Simmons and Mrs. M. M. Smith, both residing in Quincy. |
