Cemetery is owned and maintained by the City of Battle Creek. The
records below come primarily from information provided by the City Clerk's
office. PLEASE NOTE: the records provided did
not indicate a complete year of death. The year of death was
given only as a two-digit indicator so it is difficult to determine in which
century the death occurred.
UPDATE: After further research, it appears that the city records begin about 1923 - they do not have burials listed prior to that time. So, I have adjusted the dates to reflect the complete year. Also, the city's records are the date of burial, rather than the date of death. [10/3/2004.] Some records indicate the funeral home that handled the burial, and we know the following:
I have corrected the dates for Hebbles, Henry and Royal to display a four-digit indicator for the year of death. If I learn more information I will make any necessary corrections. It is strongly recommended that alternative sources be used to verify these dates. One source is GENDIS. Another is the Willard Public Library on-line index to the Battle Creek Enquirer, which also includes an index to the Ross Coller Collection. And finally, of course check the death records with the Calhoun County Clerks office or borrow the microfilm from your local LDS center. There are several known burials not included in the City's list. I will be making corrections as they become available. |
