Any time you view an older cemetery, in no matter what county through out the USA, the listing should be considered as a partial listing as many times records are either destroyed through mishap or not all burials were recorded.

JULIUS J. WATERSTRADT. ---Marcellus News May 14, 1909---
OBITUARY. Julius J. Waterstradt was born near Stralsund, Germany, July 8, 1824,
and died in Marcellus township May 8, 1909, aged 84 years and 10 months. In
1854 he came to America, it taking him three months for the voyage across the
ocean. He was married to Catherine Butchbaker October 4, 1857. To this union
were born eight children, three of whom with his wife preceded him in death.
They first settled in Jefferson township, but in the fall of 1860 he moved with
his wife and two children to Marcellus township, where he has since resided. At
the call of his country he was assigned to Company E, 15th Michigan Infantry,
and joined his regiment at Beaufort, South Carolina, leaving his family in the,
then, almost wilderness. He was mustered out at Little Rock, Ark., August 13,
1865, having served 11 months. He was a member of the Thomas Manning Post,
G.A.R., of Marcellus.
He leaves three daughters, two sons, three
grandchildren and three great- grandchildren to mourn their loss. The funeral
was held at his recent home three miles north of Marcellus, Monday, May 10th,
conducted by Rev. L. Nuechterlein, pastor of the Three Rivers Evangelical
Lutheran church, and the remains interred in Bly cemetery.
