GOFF PRIVATE CEMETERY Marcellus Township Cass County Michigan

Cemetery added to listing on March 18, 2006
Goff Cemetery is located on the farm of Charles Etter in section 20 of Marcellus Township. It is located on private property. Therefore permission should be sought by the property owner before going on to land that cemetery is located on. This listing was done by Amelia Castle and contributed to the site by: Judy Tobias.

As of 2001 this cemetery was overrun with brush, and some of the stones are broken and some are unreadable. It would be a great project for a local boy scout troup, etc., to repair it. I don't know if that is a possibility or not, but it could easily be lost in time.

Served as a Corporal in MCMAHAN'S REGIMENT, NEW YORK MILITIA.

FRED Jr. - born July 20, 1817, died July 30, 1850.   FOOT STONE

HIRAM, son of Fred Sr., died 1862 - Civil War. (Note: Judy Tobias' Grandmother's Grandfather who died of disease during the Civil War.
Enlisted Pvt 9 Nov 1861 age 39 Co A, 12th Inf Reg Mich on 19 Dec 1861. - Died of disease Co A, 12th Inf Reg Mich on 01 June 1862 in Whitmanville, MI)
