My great grandfather, Lawrence Jones, owned a livery stable in Wolverine. About 15 years ago, my wife and I were in Wolverine and visited a small museum on the south east corner of the main 4-corners. Hanging on the wall was a large framed picture of my great grandfather in front of his livery stable. There were also a few smaller photos of my grandfather, Sherman Jones, in one of the exhibits. I spoke to the elderly lady that ran the museum and she told me her name but I have forgotten it. The museum is now gone and I was wondering what happened to the contents. I would be interested in acquiring the family photos if possible. Any help or leads you could provide would be appreciated. Rusty Davis, 418 Borgess Av. Monroe, MI 48162. rustydavis@hotmail.com

Weldon B. Van Alstine MAR 2002
I am looking for info. on Charles C. Van Alstine. He was the 1st Asst. lighthouse keeper at Cheboygan Range Lights. His service was from 3/1/1906-9/30/1907. At that time he lived on Bois Blanc Island, was Married to a Harriet Metivier [not sure of spelling] born on Mackinac Island. His mothers name was ?LaPine?. Believe he died end of 1918 from stomach cancer. His widow applied for a marriage license on May 28 1919 to Arthur Miller [2991 287] this entry from same web page. They had a lot of kids around there. Some time ,also from same web page, they were spelled Vanalstine, some times Van Alstene. I believe the entree for [Death] of John M. Van Alstine just might be wrong, as this is the time Charles C. Van Alstine 39 was also supposed to have died. [52 108]. They were related to the Plaunts, that run the ferry. Weldon B. Van Alstine, vannbet@centurytel.net

Louis J. Vincent: b.10-08-1875 m.12-27-1892 to Josephine Marie Mallette b.11-19-1875. Louis was a farmer and a lumberjack. He died 04-09-1957 in Cheboygan. He was born in Canada. His father was supposedly a Chief named Jacques (Zach, Issac, Jack,.....?) His mother was not listed on his death certificate. Only the fathers first name was listed. Her father's name was Joseph but her mother was not listed on her death certificate either! I hope you have some information to share as I am trying to get something together for my father. I really have been looking on and off for years! My parents live in Bellaire, Michigan and they tell me they have been looking in Cheboygan, but can only find grandparents graves... I hope you can help me. Thanks in advance! Danielle Marie Muschell Kemper, DMusckemp@aol.com
