I walked this cemetery in September of 2000, while on vacation in Brimley. It is located in Bay Mills Township on a hill (looked like a mountain to me - way up there). The road is soooo narrow and made me lightheaded just driving up there. There are many native american graves here. The area is surrounded by woods and trees everywhere. There are hundreds of gophers and small squirrels running everywhere. They are climbing the trees and running around you. Some so close you feel as though you could reach out and touch them, which gives the area an alive feeling. So many lots surrounded by picket, wrought iron and metal fences, burial mounds and white rock surrounding them everywhere. It's so peaceful there....... The crew attempted to use the lifeboats while the Captain chose to remain with his hsip. The crew perished but the Captain was found near Isle Parisienne, clinging to a portion of the floating wreckage. In the spring of 1920, eight bodies from the "Myron", encased in ice, washed ashore at Salt Point. They are buried here, may they rest in peace. SCHIERSCHMIDTE, Charles R.
