When
Zeph D. Ervay made up his mind
To
go into the livery stable
He
hustled around and sold his stock
As
fast as he was able,
He
got rid of his horses, cattle and hogs.
O!
He didnt know what to do
But
he hunted around until Dean was found
Then
got rid of his dollars too.
To
go into a thing like that they said
He
surely had no sense.
But
he proved it square that he had his share
Of
what is called common sense.
He
went to Spring Port, so goes the report
And
brought horses, buggies and sled.
And
there he has stuck by the fire of mere pluck
And
will stick until he is dead.
And there hell stick till hes dead.
Poem By: Florence Elma (Ervay) Root (no year and no name for poem) written about her brother Zeph D. Ervay when he went into the livery stable business with someone named Dean. Dean who?? I dont know.
