Isadore August 'Izzy' Fasel
Died November 29, 1999
TRAVERSE CITY - Isadore August "Izzy" Fasel, 74, of Traverse City, died Monday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born July 19, 1925, in Hannah, he was the son of Edward and Mary (Rahe) Fasel. On Oct. 12, 1949, at Hannah St. Mary's, he married Marian Kratochvil.
Born and raised in Hannah, Izzy lived in the Traverse City area his whole adult life. He graduated from Hannah St. Mary's in 1943. Izzy served in the 82nd Airborne Division as a paratrooper and was stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. He was employed by Traverse City Iron Works in maintenance and was a member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie FOE No. 383 and the American Military League. Izzy was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, of Traverse City; four children, Anita Fasel of Traverse City, Bruce (Kim) Fasel of Gaylord, Dennis (Nikki) Fasel of Traverse City and Connie Fasel; special friend, Skip, of Traverse City; sister, Bernadine (Ray) Weber of Kingsley; brother, Albert (Ginny) Fasel of Traverse City; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Ivan.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Traverse City Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes, where a Rosary with the K of C will be recited at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at St. Patrick Catholic Church where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Rev. Gerald Micketti will serve as celebrant. Burial with military honors will be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to American Cancer Society.

Catherine 'Ronnie' Flechsig
Died December 29, 1999
TRAVERSE CITY - Catherine "Ronnie" Flechsig, 78, of Traverse City and formerly of Royal Oak, died Wednesday at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born Oct. 7, 1922, in Sudbury, Ontario, she was the daughter of Burton and Kit Menzies. Ronnie was a retired secretary, having been employed by the G.M. Tech Center in Warren. She enjoyed traveling and driving and had a wonderful sense of humor.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Flechsig of Troy; son-in-law, Bill Carlson of Traverse City; grandchildren, Heather Marone of Seattle, Wash., Shannon Hagerty of Traverse City and Amber Carlson of Lansing; great-granddaughter, Olivia Hagerty of Traverse City; sister, Margaret Menzies of Royal Oak; and a brother, Donald Menzies of Florida.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Cathy Flechsig and Donna Carlson; and her parents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in Troy. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are being handled by Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home in Traverse City.

Gretchen L. Flory
Died December 20, 1999
HART - Gretchen L. Flory, 82, of Hart, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Monday at Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
She was the daughter of Robert and Beulah (Herold) Younglas.
Gretchen is survived by her husband, Wayne Flory of Hart; daughter, Mary (Jerry) Cargill of New Era; son, Albert Flory of Lansing; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tate Funeral Home in Hart.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
