The Rural School Newsletter:
A History
and Recollections From Ionia
County, Michigan
The purpose of the newsletter is to
preserve the history of the one room school houses that once flourished in
Ionia County. Pam Swiler, the editor, gathers information from all kinds of
sources, i.e. school records, teacher records, personal stories and photos,
as well as documenting the current status of buildings which are no longer
in use as a school house, but may be used as a home, business or storage
space. All information received will become part of the resources available
through the Ionia County Genealogical Society. Back issues are available by
request. The first newsletter was introduced September, 2007.
