The stained glass window at the entrance to the first Kalamazoo Library Local History Room. A nearby plaque indicates it was saved from the 1893 library and was donated to the current library by Ruth Chenery. See Kalamazoo Views |
This stained glass displayed here was part of the orginal library built in 1893 with a gift from Dr. & Mrs. Edwin Van Deusen. That building was demolished in 1958 and replaced by a new library in 1959. The windows were restored during the 1958 renovation and expansion with a gift from the estate of Ruth Cheney |
