Helmer Building
Built in 1888 by Charles H. Leonard, a local inventor, for a manufacturing
plant.
It is located at 31 Ottawa Avenue.
| The first gas company for the city, G. R. Gas Light Company, was
on this site. It was incorporated in 1857 and remained here for 30 years.
Mr. Leonard purchased the building. He razed the building and built the
new structure. |
