The Dwelling Place, Inc. a non-profit developer is attempting to revive this building. It has become in very poor condition since the Guiding Light Mission left it in the late 1970’s.

The developer will purchase the building if it can find retail tenants by March 21^st. Then the upper floors will be renovated as low-income apartments and artist studios.

The Watson and Heald Building was erected in 1884 and housed a wholesale and retail grocery. The Glenhaven Hotel was on the upper floors.
