2. WILLIAM2 RYSKAMP (HENRY1) was born 03 Mar 1866 in Netherlands. He married WILHELMINA VANDER MOLEN 18 May 1891 in Grand Rapids, MI, daughter of HENRY VANDER MOLEN.

Notes for WILLIAM RYSKAMP:

William's parents, himself and his sibling came to the U. S. in 1881 and settled in Grand Rapids, MI.

The Ryskamp Brothers business was established in 1882 by the late Cornelius Ryskamp, an older brother of William. In 1885, another brother, Jacob, became a principal in the business and the name J. & C. Ryskamp was adopted. In 1887 William Ryskamp, was admitted to partnership and the title was changed to Ryskamp Brothers. In 1891 the firm removed from its original location at 180 Logan Street to the present headquarters on Eastern Avenue.

On 30 January, 1915 the business was incorporated and the officers of the corporation are: William Ryskamp, president; Jacob Ryskamp, vice-president; and Frederick Gunnerman, secretary and treasurer.

They are faithful members of the Christian Reformed Church.

Sons, Walter, is an employee of the Ryskamp Brothers. He was in the U.S. Navy in WWII and was located at the Great Lakes Naval Station near Chicago.

Lawrence, twin of Eva, enlisted at Valpariaso, Indiana in WWII in the motor transport service, U.S. Army. Later he was stationed at Fort Sheridan, ILL.

Franklin and his wife, Helen, ran the Ryskamp Bros. Wallpaper & Paint Store in Grand Rapids until it closed. His siblings, Margaret, James and Walter Ryskamp lived in the apartment above the store.
