Ten New Nurses
Graduated From Butterworth Hospital
Training School Last Evening

| Ten young women were graduated last evening from the
Butterworth Hospital Training School for Nurses, and hundreds of their
relatives and friends were congregated at St. Mark's church to witness
the exercises. The graduates were: Misses May Evelyn Crosby, Agnes E. Elliott, Katherine M. Gifford, Mary Vine Gifford, Nelle Mable Jones, Emma N. Miller, Catherine J. R/Howland, Ella J. Smith, Bertha Stauffer and Eva Rockwell. Miss Rockwell received her diploma by proxy as she is traveling abroad with a patient. After an opening number by a quartet of St. Mark's choir, Dr. Herbert M. King addressed the class on behalf of the medical staff of the hospital. The presentation of diplomas was made after this by Dr. G. K. Johnson, who delivered a strong address to the class. The gold badges of the training school were present by Edward Lowe, president of the hospital board. Rev. J. N. McCormick then delivered the invocation. An informal reception was tendered the class by the members of the board of women managers immediately after the exercises, at which refreshments were served by the members of the junior class. |
