Obituary in the Lakeview Enterprise, May 10, 1895
Samuel Bowhall died 9 May, 1895, Thursday morning at 3 o'clock.
He was born in Hermon Village, New York in the year 1859.
When five years old he came to Michigan with his parents, locating in the
village of Cedar Springs, Kent County. The scenes of his business life
have been principally in Cedar Springs, Edmore, Grand Rapids and Lakeview,
having lived in Lakeview the first three years of his life, selling general
merchandise.
February 14, 1885, Samuel Bowhall and Mina E. Holmes were married at the
residence of the brides' parents in Wasau, Wisconsin and it has proved a most
happy union. Since the marriage of their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Holmes
moved to Edmore where they now reside. Mr. Bowhall's father died several
years ago and since that time he has made it a sacred duty to provide his
widowed mother with, not only the necessities, but the luxuries of life.
The remains will be taken to Cedar Springs for burial on Saturday.
