Dr. George Kline, dead in Boston, widely known psychiatrist attended local
schools; identified with hospitals.
Dr. George M. Kline, 54, former Grand Rapids resident and for many years
superintendent of a state hospital for mental disorders at Danvers, Mass., died
Thursday night in Boston. Dr. Kline was born in Pittsburgh, PA and came to
Grand Rapids with his parents. He was educated in local public schools and
at the University of Michigan. He was connected with state Psychopathic
hospitals in Iowa and Michigan previous to going to Danvers. He was a
member of several societies interested in mental hygiene. Dr. Kline
married Ethel A. Fry in 1906. Two daughters were born to this union.
He also is survived by his mother, Mrs. Daniel Z. Kline of this city; a sister,
Miss Emma Kline, a teacher in Central High School, and a brother, Harvey E.
Kline of 570 Jefferson Ave., SE. Funeral services will be held in Boston.

Harvey E. Kline, retired employee of the old G. R. & I. and the Pennsylvania
Railroad, for more than 50 years, died Tuesday morning in his home, 570
Jefferson Ave., SE. The house was one built by his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Daniel Z. Kline. Mr. Kline entered the employ of the old G. R. & I.
immediately on graduating from Central High School and retired in 1936, at which
time he was serving as a clerk. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias,
a past noble grand of the IOOF, a member of the LOOM and of the G. R. & I.
veterans association. Surviving are his sister, Miss Mary E. Kline, who
made her home with him; a niece Miss Anitra Kline of Beverly, Mass., and several
cousins. Funeral arrangements are awaiting the arrival of relatives.
The body reposes in Metcalf's Mortuary.
