DEATH OF ANOTHER PIONEER – Mrs. L. Lee

Corporal Bay C. McFuarine of Camp Custer came to see his cousin, Mrs. L. lee of 614 Shamrock street, who had a stroke of apoplexy, from which she did not recover.
The deceased was born in Medina, Ohio and when but a child moved to Rockford, Michigan with her parents. In 1877 she married Virgil L. Depew; four children were born to them; her husband died shortly after.
In 1893 she was married to Ralph Lee; he preceded her in death four years thereafter. The last years of her life was spent with the children. She was much of the growth of Grand Rapids and especially this part of the city. She left many friends besides her children to mourn her death.
Funeral services were held on Saturday from her late residence. Rev. Herbert McConnell officiating.
