Mrs. Nellie Matthews Is Dead In Kent City

Kent City, Dec. 19 – Mrs. Nellie Matthews, 52, died today in her home here. She is survived by her husdan, a daughter, Mrs. Roland H. Mertes, of Muskegon, and two sons, Lester A. of 1741 Eastern Ave., and Walter R. of 527 Kenwood NE, Grand Rapids.

Mrs. Matthews was born near Marne, and had lived in Kent City the past 12 years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid society and the Maccabees. Her husband, Elmer, is a Kent county deputy sheriff.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the residence. Burial will be near Kent City.
