Obituary of Netta J. Oom - Grand Rapids Press, 27 Jan 1998

Netta J. Oom, aged 98, of Grand Rapids, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, January 26, 1998, at the Christian Rest Home. She was preceded in death by her husband Jacob in 1971; granddaughter, Bonnie Oom in 1986; sisters, Margaret, Cena Ann; brothers, Archie, Phillip, and John. Surviving are her children, Eileen (Phillip) Nykamp, Arthur (Celeste) Oom; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Roerig; Brothers, William Vanden Bergh, and Jacob Vanden Bergh. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church for many years. Funeral and committal will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. N.E. at Three Mile Rd., with Rev. Joseph Balbach of Berean Baptist Church. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet her family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Wednesday at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Christian Rest Home or to Berean Baptist Church.
