Dr. Anne Oostendorp, age 66, was one of the first pediatric radiologists.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, she began her practice in Grand Rapids in the 1970’s.

The obstacles she faced when she entered the field were apparent in a 1969 article about three female residents working at two Grand Rapids hospitals.

Dr. Oostendorp was working at Butterworth Hospital in the radiology department and navigating in an almost exclusively ‘man’s world’. She worked in pediatrics at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.

She is survived by her brothers, a sister, nieces and nephews, and friends.

The funeral services will be conducted at the LaGrave Avenue Christian Reformed Church.
