Out Steenstra Obituary

Out Steenstra, aged 62 years, one of the early merchants here, died at his home, 839 Grandville avenue, Wednesday morning after a protracted illness extending about a year. He was able to be out at times until several weeks past. He was engaged in the dry goods trade, corner of Grandville avenue and A street for a number of years, selling out to J. Dykstra six years ago. He was possessed of several valuable pieces of property and a man of some means; this was obtained through many hard struggles in his younger days; he worked and saved.
He was a man well known and respected. He leaves a widow and three grown-up children. He was a devout member of Franklin Street Christian Reformed church. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the church, Rev. L. Veltkamp, officiating.
